Abstract

The Rules of the APA Fact Check by the Austrian Press Agency (APA) aim to ensure a transparent and independent verification process designed to help readers assess and evaluate information. By providing objective facts, the APA fact-check team aims to counter unjustified prejudices and prevent manipulation. The Rules comprise an overview of the selection and structure of these fact checks as well as transparency, impartiality and quality assurance. For example, fact checks should be processed by at least two employees; or experts should be contacted if the sources are equivocal.
