Abstract

The Application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Scientific Research, discussed in an informational article by the Office of the Controller of Academic Ethics and Procedures of the Republic of Lithuania, highlights the ethical and legal challenges in the education sector. It references key international documents, including the 2019 Ethics Guidelines for Trustworthy AI, UNESCO’s 2021 recommendations on AI ethics, and the Council of Europe’s 2022 study on AI in education, stressing the importance of reliable and controlled AI applications in research. Additionally, EU-funded projects like PANELFIT, Sherpa, and SIENNA address data protection and ethical issues in AI research.
