Abstract

The Editorial Charter (charte rédactionnelle) of the daily newspaper Le Courrier. The Charter’s guidelines are aimed at the news organization’s professionals and addresses the newspaper’s editorial line, the newsroom’s independence, and the organization. The Guidelines depict the humanist vision of the newspaper by stating its commitment to promoting the primacy of the person, the defence of the poorest people, and the promotion of interreligious and intercultural dialogue. According to the Guidelines, journalists are required to comply with the Declaration of Duties and Rights of Journalists while the editorial organization emphasizes teamwork within the editorial team.
