Abstract

The Netiquette and User-Generated Content paper published by SRF (public service media broadcasting in German-speaking Switzerland) targets users commenting on the news organization’s platforms. They consist of Guidelines for appropriate content from commenters based on relevance to articles, the use of non-discriminatory language and the compliance with laws associated with creating an account and posting on their platforms. These Guidelines state that their aim is to foster a respectful and inclusive online community and to ensure that discussions remain pertinent and free from harmful speech, hence creating an engaging environment for users to share opinions and interact with content.
