On 14 July 2025, the panel “Environmental Activism, Justice and Ethics” took place at the IAMCR Conference Communicating Environmental Justice: Many Voices, One Planet at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. As part of the DIACOMET initiative, a collaborative presentation titled “Many Voices, Shared Responsibility? Principles of Dialogic Communication in International Codes of Ethics – A Comparative Analysis” examined how ethical codes and guidelines integrate participatory and dialogic principles in public communication. The contribution by Tobias Eberwein, Marie Rathmann, Krisztina Rozgonyi (OeAW), and Laura Amigo (Università della Svizzera Italiana) highlighted DIACOMET’s dedication to fostering dialogue, inclusivity, and shared responsibility in communication ethics.

The discussion emphasized the growing complexity of ethical challenges in public communication and the need to move beyond one-size-fits-all approaches. DIACOMET’s work underlined the importance of addressing diverse sociopolitical contexts and strengthening transnational dialogue on communication standards.
