DIACOMET partner the Hungarian Europe Society is organizing an event in cooperation with the Mérték Media Monitor, which will take place on Monday, November 10th 2025, from 17.00 until 18.30 at the Magyar Hang Community Square (1096 Budapest, Thaly Kálmán utca 22-24, entrance directly from the street front).
In the past few months, several cases have arisen or received greater attention in the Hungarian public that raise a series of media ethics dilemmas, from the protection of privacy, to the difference between propaganda and quality journalism and responsibility issues, to the depiction of various aspects of individual and social vulnerability. Given the importance of the topic and the heightened atmosphere of next year’s election campaign, the focus of this panel discussion is to reflect on the most important media ethics issues and the consequences of these dilemmas.
Participants in the discussion:
Bea Bodrogi, lawyer
Éva Bognár, media researcher, coordination director of the Media Forum Association
Dániel Pál Rényi, journalist, 444 employee
The event will be moderated by Erik Uszkiewicz, vice president of the Hungarian European Society and researcher of the DIACOMET project. The discussion will be held in Hungarian.
RSVP: please indicate your intention to participate by November 7th 2025 at the e-mail address [email protected]
