Understanding polarization in Central and Eastern Europe
The Hungarian Europe Society, a DIACOMET partner, held the workshop “Dialogue, Debate, Hatred” in cooperation with the SCIENCE+ regional project on November 17th 2025. The event brought together researchers and the public in Budapest and online to explore rising polarization in Central and Eastern Europe.
Presentations examined social attitudes through European Social Survey data and unpacked the psychological dynamics driving political and societal division. The workshop fostered open discussion and critical reflection among participants and contributed to the central mission of our project.
