As part of the Long Night of Research on 24 April 2026, the DIACOMET Dialogue Lab was presented by our Austrian project partners at the Johannessaal of the Austrian Academy of Sciences. The interactive station “Digital Reality Check: Small Decisions – Big Impact?” invited a broad audience to engage with key questions surrounding digitalisation and society.

Participants were encouraged to reflect on everyday ethical dilemmas related to fake news, artificial intelligence and moral grey areas in digital communication. By working through different scenarios, visitors explored the potential consequences of their choices and discussed their perspectives with members of the research team. The station attracted a steady flow of visitors throughout the evening. Discussions highlighted the complexity of navigating digital environments and the importance of responsibility in media use. The interactive format proved effective in making abstract ethical questions tangible and accessible to a diverse audience.
