Abstract

The strategy paper Our Common Agenda Policy Brief 8: Information Integrity on Digital Platforms by the United Nations (UN) is guided by the principles of the United Nations Charter, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and other international instruments. Digital platforms have played a transformative role in connecting people and giving voice to previously marginalized groups. This document calls for a Code of Conduct to address threats to information integrity on digital platforms, aiming to make the digital space more inclusive and secure while protecting freedom of expression. A commitment from member states and stakeholders is voluntary.
