Abstract

Code of Ethics for Educators in Lithuania published by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Lithuania defines the key requirements of professional conduct and obligations for pedagogical staff and freelance teachers in Lithuania. It applies to their interactions with pupils, parents, colleagues, and the community. The Code emphasizes principles such as respect, justice, recognition of human rights, responsibility, fairness, care, and solidarity. Adherence to the Code is a personal commitment and a matter of honour for educators, and the breach of these requirements carries legal consequences. The head of an educational establishment is responsible for ensuring adherence to the Code.
