Abstract

The LRT Code of Ethics for Journalists ​by Lithuanian National Radio and Television (LRT) ​ is applicable to journalists and creative staff working for LRT. ​ It sets out the basic rules and principles of professional ethics for LRT journalists and aims to regulate their conduct in both their professional activities and daily lives. ​The Code emphasizes the importance of freedom of expression and the role of LRT as a public service broadcaster. ​It aims to ensure the proper performance of LRT journalists’ functions by promoting values such as openness, impartiality, and reliability. ​ The Code also addresses issues related to privacy, protection of minors, confidentiality of sources, and the use of social media.
