Abstract

The Good Election Practice was developed by the Estonian Civil Society. The aim of the Good Election Practice is to raise voter awareness, ensure adherence to the principles of fair play in election campaigns and respect for the voter to strengthen democracy. The practice outlines four main principles: (1) Financing of the election campaign is transparent; (2) Public power is not abused; (3) The election campaign focuses on substantive issues; (4) The political views and positions of the candidates are public.
