Abstract

NUjij is the comment platform of NU.nl, one of the largest news websites in the Netherlands, intended for substantive discussions about the news, additions to and from articles and tips and questions for the editors. NU.nl has created House Rules for the users of NUjij to provide a safe environment to discuss the news. The rules are divided into two sections, “What we would like” and “What we don’t want”. The first section refers, among other things, to respect, being open to other’s ideas and views and following the rules. The other section mentions, among other things, swearing, speculating, and spreading untruths.
