How to Report Domestic Violence and Violence Against Women: Guidelines for the Media is a document prepared by the Association SOS Help-Line for Women and Children – Victims of Violence and by the Slovene Association of Journalists. The Guidelines recommend that journalists will: avoid myths and stereotypes about violence; inform and raise public awareness that violence is unacceptable; select competent interviewees; not disclose the identity of those involved except in the case of public interest; address violence in the social context; and carefully select visual material.
