Abstract

The Code of Ethics for Lithuanian banks establishes a moral and operational guide, focusing on sustainable banking’s role in societal and economic growth. It seeks to balance the interests of stakeholders—customers, employees, management, shareholders, and society—through responsibility, transparency, and professionalism. The goal is to cultivate a financially savvy, technologically forward society, with banks as key drivers of progress and welfare. The Code details obligations towards societal contributions, client relations, transparency, and professional integrity, promoting economic growth, legislative engagement, financial education, exemplary client service, anti-corruption measures, and competitive fairness. Adherence to this Code is essential for Lithuanian Banking Association members, ensuring ethical practices, regulatory compliance, and the advancement of beneficial banking standards.
