DIACOMET representatives from the Austrian Academy of Sciences Christina Krakovsky and Marina Lindmeyr presented a paper at the conference “Bilder in Bewegung und mit Bildern bewegen: Gender, Macht & Mobilität”, organised by the DGPuK specialist groups Media, Public Sphere, Gender and Visual Communication.

The conference was held at the Institute for Media Studies, University of Tübingen (Germany), from November 19–21th 2025.

Our partners presented a contribution entitled “Mitten im Schlaglicht – und doch nicht sichtbar. Öffentlichkeitsdynamiken aus Sicht marginalisierter Akteur: innen in Österreich” (“In the Spotlight – and Yet Invisible: Publicity Dynamics from the Perspective of Marginalised Actors in Austria”).

Their presentation examined how marginalised groups often remain unseen despite media attention and explored the dynamics underlying this phenomenon.
