Abstract

Artificial intelligence Guidelines released by the Swiss Press Council overview the use of artificial intelligence in Swiss news organizations. These Guidelines reference the Declaration of Duties and Rights of Journalists as they contain numerous Guidelines that apply to the correct use of generative AI. The Guidelines stress the responsibility of journalists for compliance with ethical standards. They also address the importance of labelling AI-generated content, naming the sources on which artificially generated content is based and not entering sensitive data into AI programs without full control over the subsequent use of the data.
