Abstract

The Code of Athens by the International Public Relations Association (IPRA) was adopted in 1965 and counts as the first international public relations ethics code. It voluntarily applies to all members and is recommended for PR practitioners worldwide to maintain the integrity and credibility of the industry. Public relations practitioners should contribute to the realisation of fundamental human rights, establish communication channels, earn trust, and adhere to moral principles and rules.
