Abstract

The “Code of Ethics for Journalists of Slovenia”, adopted by the Slovene Association of Journalists and the Slovenian Union of Journalists, contains ethical standards pertaining to journalists’ work in the Slovenian media. Journalists’ compliance with the code is determined by the Journalists’ Ethics Council. The code addresses basic ethical principles of journalistic work, such as truthfulness and protection of anonymous sources; transparent corrections of online contents and editorial responsibility for online users’ contents; general ethical standards, such as the right to privacy and prohibition of hate speech; conflicts of interests; and the rights of journalists.
