Abstract

The “Code of Medical Ethics” by the Medical Chamber of Slovenia is binding for all physicians in Slovenia. It covers responsibility towards the patient, the profession and oneself; societal responsibility; relations in the medical team; the physician and healthcare-related business activity; and the physician in public. The section on responsibility towards the patient outlines provisions regarding communication, decision-making and consent. The section on societal responsibility covers the physician’s involvement in educational activities and measures to improve health. The section on the physician in the public sets out provisions regarding public presentations, promotion and public accusations.
