Abstract

The “Compass for the Use of Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) in a Work-related Context” by the AI Competence Network is intended to serve an overall stance for all employees of the Vienna City Administration. To lay the groundwork for the responsible use of generative AI tools, basic principles such as personal responsibility, knowledge and experience are propounded. On the one hand, the document deals with the meaning of these basic principles for the employees’ use of AI tools in a work-related context. On the other hand, guidance for the intercourse with results that have been or could have been generated by AI tools is given. The compass is non-binding and will be evaluated on an ongoing basis and updated if necessary.
