Abstract

At the independent online magazine ‘andererseits’, people with and without disabilities do journalism. The voluntary editorial guidelines emphasise inclusiveness and support for team members. Texts and graphics are often created collaboratively, either as co-authors or with supported authorship. The aim of “andererseits” is to tell socially relevant stories from diverse perspectives, particularly those of people with disabilities. The magazine adheres to journalistic quality criteria by publishing factually correct, well-told, and socially relevant stories. The ethical principles are based on the Code of Ethics for the Austrian Press and oriented towards other media, including the BBC’s Editorial Guidelines.
