Abstract

The “Editorial Statute” by BAIT lays down the ethical and qualitative guidelines for all journalistic members of the editorial team to ensure the redactions of journalistic freedom and quality. BAIT is a journalistic social media channel that reports on fake news and conspiracy myths aimed specifically at young people. The statute deals with guidelines concerning the interaction with the community and provides answers to challenges of the digital space, including the need for youth-orientated, journalistically high-quality fact checks that are produced authentically and transparently exclusively for social media channels. On this occasion, the editorial teams should be independent and free from any Polishitical, economic or ideological-oriented influence.
