Abstract

“Suicide Prevention – Professional Guidelines for Responsible Journalistic Reporting” (Let’s Talk About Suicide) were drafted by the National Institute of Public Health of the Republic of Slovenia; Ozara Slovenija; Slovenian Association for Suicide Prevention; University of Primorska; and a working group of journalists. The document explains the impact of media reporting on imitating suicidal behaviour and provides recommendations. An additional version was published under the title Reporting on Suicide During the COVID-19 Pandemic: Recommendations for Responsible Reporting on Suicide. The guidelines will be updated in 2024.
