Abstract

The “Code of Conduct for Journalistic Activities” by the public service media in Austria (ORF) applies to all employees involved in ORF journalistic programmes and content as programme creators or journalists. It creates binding guidelines for everyday practice based on existing ORF laws, guidelines and regulations. Journalistic independence from Polishitical or economic interest, the separation of programme and advertising as well as authenticity are core values that should be adhered to. After these values have been discussed detailed, the central points of the ORF Ethics Council are presented.
