Abstract

The “Editorial Statute” by the public service media in Austria (ORF) secures independence, personal responsibility, and freedom of the journalistic profession within the company. It is worth noting that the statute takes into account the legal framework of public service broadcasting and underscores the importance of ensuring that the programs produced uphold human dignity and fundamental rights, equality, and integration. Furthermore, democratic discourse should be encouraged. The code is obligatory for all employees who contribute journalistic content.
