Abstract

A Code of Conduct was adopted by the non-profit media outlet Pod Črto (The Bottom Line), which is mainly focused on investigative reporting and data journalism. According to the Code, a journalist will fully respect the provisions of the Code of Ethics for Journalists of Slovenia (see SI1). The Code of Conduct, however, sets additional rules, particularly regarding the journalist’s duty to obtain a response; authorization; and consistency of reporting. The media outlet Podcrto.si follows the principle of freedom of expression when publishing comments but encourages a constructive debate and retains the right to reject offensive comments.
