Abstract

The “Code of Conduct” was adopted by a non-profit media outlet Pod Črto [The Bottom Line], which is mainly focused on investigative reporting and data journalism. According to the code, a journalist shall fully respect the provisions of the Code of Ethics for Journalists of Slovenia. The Code of Conduct, however, sets additional rules, particularly regarding the journalist’s duty to obtain a response; authorization; and consistency of reporting. The media outlet Podcrto.si follows the principle of freedom of expression when publishing comments, but encourages a constructive debate and retains the right to reject offensive comments.
