Abstract

The “RTS Deontological” (“Charte déontologique de la RTS”) published by the RTS oversees editorial and programming activity of the public service media broadcasring in French-speaking Switzerland and concerns all professionals collaborating with the RTS.The Charter follows in the footsteps of “Declaration of the Duties and Rights of Journalists” (Munich, 1971) and the “Directives” drawn up by the Swiss Press Council while adding a specific dimension to them. The charter affirms the values and principles on which the RTS work is based (e.g., responsibility, independence, impartiality, plurality).
