Abstract

The United Nations Volunteers (UNV) program has provided legally non-binding guidelines for their staff’s use of social media, whether as representatives making official statements or in their private capacity as citizens. These guidelines are intended to supplement the UNV and “UN’s Code of Conduct” and ensure that staff use social media responsibly. Staff should be mindful of their actions and avoid engaging in activities that may harm the reputation of the organisation. They are encouraged to use social media to share information, foster engagement, and promote the work of the UNV program.
