Abstract

The Erasmus University Rotterdam uses social media for diverse reasons, such as sharing knowledge and information, participating in many interesting discussions, promoting their (corporate) communications, and enhancing their reputation. The “Social Media Guidelines” were created to provide their university staff with rules to use social media as effectively as possible and avoid unpleasant situations. The rules cover topics such as integrity, honesty, decency, and common sense.
