These” Social Media Guidelines” by the Austrian Armed Forces provide voluntary recommendations for military personnel on how to safely and responsibly use platforms like Facebook and YouTube for both personal and professional purposes. The code emphasises the importance of observing the law when using social media, avoiding insults or threats, and being cautious about sharing unverified information. Soldiers should be cautious when using social media, as their posts can have long-term consequences. They should consider how their posts may affect future job applications and be respectful in their interactions. Photos or videos in uniform should be carefully considered.
