Abstract

SRF’s (public service media broadcasting in German-speaking Switzerland) Social Media Netiquette are Guidelines for users commenting on the public service media’s content. They stress the importance of a factual style, a constructive tone, tolerance and respect for other opinions. They state that false information should not be spread and that offensive comments as well as illegal and commercial or political content will be deleted. They also indicate that spam and repeated posts or links will be deleted. Posting personal information of others without their consent is prohibited. The Guidelines indicate that the right to delete comments or block users rests with the organization.
