Abstract

“The Camden Principles on Freedom of Expression and Equality” were created by ARTICLE 19 with the input of high-level UN officials, civil society groups, and human rights experts. ARTICLE 19 is a UK-based international human rights organization working to defend and promote freedom of expression and information. The development of these legally non-binding principles was driven by the goal of achieving global consensus on the appropriate balance between freedom of expression and the promotion of equality. They call on individuals and organizations worldwide to endorse these principles to give them credibility and support.
