Abstract

Euronews is a multilingual European news channel that reports on current events, politics, economics, culture and other topics in various languages. In their legally non-binding “Euronews Charter”, the channel emphasizes the importance of editorial freedom and independence. The charter contains, for example, chapters about respect for human persons and their dignity, honesty of information and newsgathering. Furthermore, it points out the individual responsibility of journalists and the framework conditions of advertising and sponsorship.
